Our Story
Kara Mac, creator of the world’s first, instantly convertible shoe, from heel to toe wants to make your days a little easier and your suitcase a bit lighter.
As a fashion designer for big brands in NYC, Kara Mac commuted daily often with an extra bag of shoes, prepared for any meeting, occasion and event, not to mention walking shoes to and from the train. It was cumbersome.
When she traveled by plane, she was forced to check her bag due to all the shoes she packed.
With a degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology and after working in the fashion industry for 25 years, designing for major brands, she left her corporate job with a dream to create fashionable and comfortable footwear for women on the go, like her.
The result is Kara Mac Shoes, a revolutionary, convertible shoe line that customizes boots, shoes and sandals with interchangeable heel covers and toe accessories. This system makes for a lighter footprint and positive environmental impact by decreasing the number of shoes that end up in landfills.
Kara Mac Shoes' one-of-a-kind patented click-and-snap heel cover invention allows women to instantly customize their shoes with swappable heels and interchangeable accessories – "Candy" – for every mood, occasion and destination. One Shoe=Multiple Looks.
