FEBRUARY IS HEART MONTH AND WE ARE PROUD TO SUPPORT SCAD ALLIANCE
February is National Heart Month. We are excited to partner with SCAD Alliance and help spread the word about Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection which causes 40% of all heart attacks in women under 50.
More than 90% of SCAD patients are women, yet most women never raise the issue of heart health with their physicians. Believe it or not, heart disease kills 1 in 3 women, and nearly half of all black women over the age of 20 suffer from heart disease. We want to do our part to help educate and bring awareness to women's heart disease and the SCAD Alliance this month.
SCAD Alliance is committed to improving the lives of SCAD patients and their families through education, advocacy, research and support. I first learned about SCAD through my friend Julie who suffered an acute heart attack last January. Julie is lucky. She survived and is passionate about educating others about women's heart health issues.
All month long, we will donate 20% to SCAD on all heart sales. We are hoping that we can help increase knowledge, recognition and support for this valuable resource.
